Practice Areas Mary Tribby is a commercial litigator specializing in construction and real estate litigation, health care litigation, mining litigation and utilities and natural resources litigation. Ms. Tribby has represented clients on all aspects of construction and real estate litigation and arbitration including design and construction defects, public condemnation, private takings, access and easement disputes, covenant and contractual disputes and mining claims. She counsels clients regarding best contracting practices and litigation avoidance techniques, and works with them on utility-related issues. Ms. Tribby has represented physicians, pharmacists and other medical professionals in connection with disciplinary, credentialing and licensing proceedings and violations of constitutional guarantees in those processes. She also represents medical professionals in connection with all types of contractual disputes. Ms. Tribby also counsels several non-profit organizations with which she is associated on all types of legal matters. Immediately prior to joining Holland & Hart, Ms. Tribby was the Chief Regulatory Counsel for AT&T responsible for all of its regulatory legal issues for an 18 state region. Mary has tried dozens of telecommunications-related cases, including a proceeding which led to the first interconnection agreement between telecommunications carriers in the country, and formed the basis for the first United States Supreme Court case challenging the Federal Telecommunications Act. She also litigated the case which led to the first finding of bad faith by an incumbent carrier, and the resulting million dollar fine. Ms. Tribby currently handles litigation and state and federal regulatory matters for a number of communications companies and counsels them on various issues arising in the industry. She is also a frequent lecturer on telecommunications matters. Before joining AT&T, Ms. Tribby was a member of the McDermott, Will & Emery law firm in Chicago and Faegre & Benson in Denver working in the areas of bankruptcy, securities and construction litigation.
